(2011 GTI) Sea-Doo Depth Finder (or HawkEye?)

    Hey everyone.

I have the 2011 Sea-Doo GTI 155 LTD. I am looking to install a depth finder, myself.

I am back and forth between the Sea-Doo Depth Finder that displays on the factory dash/cluster and the more affordable HawkEye PWC Depth Finder.

Does anyone have the instructions or experience installing the Sea-Doo Depth Finder on a 2011 Sea-Doo GTI ski?

Comments on either depth finder and how they compare?

Thanks you in advance for your replies on this topic.
    Cheers.

Iv got OEM on my GTX and a Hawkeye in our boat.

OEM one works well but at least in metric it either shows 0m or 1m in shallow water - it would be nice to have some steps in between

Where the hawkeye is just as accurate but will show .1m difference eg 0.6m etc which is helpful. Just not as integrated.

Hawkeye also has an alarm which is helpful eg if you suddenly hit shallow water you will know without having to look for it.

    Appreciate the reply, thanks.

Did you install the Sea-Doo factory Depth Finder yourself?

Does the Hawkeye require you to split wires and splice in to the Sea-Doo electric system?
    Thanks.

My GTX came standard with depth sounder so not sure whats involved there.

Hawkeye just requires power (most likely straight from the battery switched with a relay from a purple wire up front)

    Thanks for your reply.

Anyone have any experience installing the Sea-Doo Depth Finder on a 2011 GTI ski? Anyone have the instructions for the 2011 Sea-Doo? I can only find instructions for the older skis.

    Thank you.

I'm not sure where exactly you ride but since your going to install a depth finder it got me thinking. You could install a high end fish finder/GPS and mount it inside the glove box in front of you. Then you'd have GPS....just an idea thought it's be cool.

Thanks for the reply. Interesting idea, but I like the idea and leaning towards the Sea-Doo Depth Finder because it intergrades into the Sea-Doo cluster it itself - nothing else to mount.

Finding it hard to track down the 2011 GTI depth finder instructions though. I'd like to get the details of the installation first before I purchase, since I am looking to install it myself.
    Thank you.

The kit comes with a harness that attaches to the fuse block and then you have the dealer (Or Candoo Pro)activate it.

Thanks for the note, however those instructions are for 2010 and prior iS models, 2010 GTX, RXT, RXT-X, WAKE Pro, models, part number: 295100332.

I am searching for the installation instructions for part number: 295100421 for 2011 models with iBR* and GTS 2011.
    Which is: http://store.sea-doo.com/product/0/2..._/Depth_Finder

    Thanks.
