Need some help installing Tacho PET2100

    Hi Guys

Need some help installing my Tacho on my FZR.

What is the best way in getting the wire wrap around the coil and set up on the meter.

    Thanks

To me, it's kind of hokey how these hook-up but I must admit, I've never had a problem...

You can just see the way I wrapped the wire in the top of this pic:

I have the 2500 and I'm not sure of the settings for the 2100. I just go out and idle it until I find the correct setting (two tach's match) and leave it there.

I have a TinyTach and mine sets up the same as in Craig's picture. Wrap around the #1 spark boot and ground the other wire. I also put some tape around the wire so it doesn't vibrate off the spark boot-- which it has a tendency of doing.

Exactly what I do. Use some electrical tape to hold the wire on the spark plug boot on the #1 (front) cylinder plug

I've used Rescue Tape as well. It holds up better to the heat where as the electrical tape sort of melts. But it works fine. Rescue Tape is 20$ for 3 rolls.

A plastic tie wrap works fine for me. I wrap the wire around 1 time, then tie it at the mount bolt.

Pretty much what I did, just wrapped a little differently:

That is a good way to do it.
