Is spx fuel guage 12 volt

I have a 94 hull that has a fuel guage on it and and want to use it on a sp that does not. I know I need to transfer the gauge and fuel sending unit. Does the sending unit and gauge use 12 volts or does the mpem step it down in voltage?

12VDC for the Gauge. The Sending Unit only acts as a variable resistor for the Gauge which supplies it's Power source.
The Gauge determines the Fuel Level displayed based on how much resistance the Sending unit has.

That output comes from the resister network on the Sending Unit internal circuit board and where the Magnet Float is actuating the Reed Switches on the internal circuit board. Different progressive resistors are brought into the Circuit based on how many the Reed Switches are activated or not by the Float Magnet.

arent you going to need the MPEM and wire loom from that ski to make it work? i thought that the loom on a SP is stripped down?

Not sure if the mpem has a spare 12 volt pigtail or not. I haven't opened the box up yet. The sensors do not need to go through mpem. They are separate. I just need a 12 volt power source. Be nice if it was switched from the mpem, If not I'll either tap off the safety switch or just run a separate circuit with a switch on it. Either way it should be pretty simple mod.
