05 RXP Rebulid Piston/cylinder wall clearance
Rebuilding my first 4-TEC, dropped a couple valves. I've got it torn down, only 35 hrs on the ski. There is minimal cylinder wall damage to the cylinder that dropped the valve, I think it'll clean up at .010. I see in the manual that the recommended cylinder wall clearance is .001?? Is that correct? I've never seen a engine run with one thousandth clearance.
Also the head is beat up pretty bad. Valve head cut into the dome pretty deep in a couple spots. How bad is too bad on these?

Yea I see that .0039 wear limit, but new is .001, I'm guessing the piston expansion rate is the consistent with the expansion rate of the cylinder.

I had to go .020 when I repaired mine. Make sure you have the correct end gap on the rings.

CPs?? .028 thou piston clearance??? How did we go from .001 to .028? I'm assuming you mean ring end gap. Who sells the .020 over pistons other that WSM and SBT?
