How long before a 2 speed transmission is implemented?

I say within the next few years seeing how things are going with Seadoo - brakes, suspension, transmission next.

i never really got why boats ( lets say cruisers) never implemented something like it.......i guess it wont be amazing because a boat has alot more friction and such and doesnt have much of a rolling momentum as a car......

but for something like, a regular gear ( as they are usually geared) and a lower gear to move slower or something........

someone explain to me why it wouldnt work... im too dumb xD

I doubt they will ever, you can only spin a prop so fast before you go backwards.

You're more likely to see some form of variable vein prop or nozzles & even pumps.

I would imagine that it would be some kind of variable prop too...and expensive as hell too!

hopefully they wont be expensive after some time...... i mean at first... sure but after? hopefully not.......

if it would happen for outboards it would be logical to use a centrifugal clutch... or the same principle to change the angle..... MORE rpm... blade angle changes...... wont be controlled manually but automatically with the engine rpm........

Doesn't matter what they do in the future...........government says 65 +2 mph max...........so until this is changed the 300x Kawa gets you out of the hole so quick you are lucky to keep your arms in their sockets.........unless your going to race it who needs more
