    2005 vx110 valve/piston kiss

    just bought 2 vx110 sport, one ski had bent valves cyl.4, after repair ran for 3hrs then same problem. this time head gone. need parts and info. new to skis old honda mech.

    Most logical reason would be the timing chain was not installed properly when the repair was done (crank and cams out of sync), another reason could be timing chain tensioner could have failed. These are just typical possibilities.

    We would need a lot more detailed information to help out with a solution.

    worn out valve spring? strength of spring is gone and valve is not snapping closed quick enough, therefore the piston hits it? If its the same cylinder Id def check the strength of the spring.



    Here is somthing on Valve springs from the "Honda peeps" dosen't have anything todo with model just valve springs in general

    things to check: Vertical piston play, valvetrain components like keepers, springs, shims, cups, then timing of camshafts

    theres a few vx110's parted out on ebay, check for a head there? also depending on damage there is a few good head guys that can weld up and replace seats
