fx sho rpm issue
hi im new to the yamaha, my mate just purchased a 2009 fx sho with 57 hours. the problem is the ski cant rev past 6500 with 85kph topspeed ive check the charger and it is fine changed the prop and still no good.
ive notice the air fitler is soaked and have removed it and replaced it with a cold air intake..
is there any think i should look at...

On the 160 FX HO models I have seen plugs can cause RPM issues! Not sure about the SHO! It may worth looking into!

As Reza said, fresh plugs if you haven't already. Did you verify that it wasn't in "L" mode?

must clean the spark plug covers, there is a spring inside it does not make much contact

*cleaned coilpacks with contact cleaner
*had a service at 50 hours but changed a new set of plug
*not in L mode as the L mode light is off
*changed to pod filter as the flame arrestor was soaked
anything else i should look at before we take it for a water testing?

you need to put it on water you dont want to be revving over 5500 rpm's dry or you may damage the clutch.
