I treated my self for christmas. going to test in the morning. i have one small question . I had to make my own spacer as the one supplied rubbed the prop on the unit. i have a clearance of approx 0.010'' between the rear of the prop and the tbm unit is this ok or will i need to reduce my spacer at some point.

Very nice! TBM calls for .040 clearance between the hub of the impeller and hub of the cone.

Thats what i thought jerry , but when i fitted the cone and tightened it it locked the prop so i removed the prop and made my own spacer from a large washer and polished it down with a sanding wheel until it was just clear so im assuming it must be correct, i think my spacer is more like 60 or 70 thousanth's. i'll post up later after ive tested it see what i get.

I wouldn't run that pump cone with .010 clearance, it will make contact and turn your pump insert into shrapnel. Like Jerry, .040 to .045 clearance is needed.
Make sure your spacer is made of the correct material/hardness.
Ask Tim @ TBM about using the correct material.
I would bore your pump nozzel also.

im not sure if were talking about the same clearance i mean between the face of the tbm unit and the rear outer dia of the prop hub i have a 0.010'' clearance so my spacer overall is 0.70'' thick. ran it today and it ran great. cavitation now only pops twice from standstill and on the move and at top speed in light chop is zero also mid range is much improved especially whem cornering on a closed course.

so just to be clear the rear outer diameter of the prop needs to be 0.040'' from the front face of the tbm unit. if so i can use a wider spacer to achieve this. is there any chance some one can send me a photo or a sketch to show this.... thanks in advance.

If your running a 160mm prop with the stock pump, I would bore the pump nozzel to 85mm and repitch the prop to eliminate all cavitation off the line.

im running a stock pump with 155mm prop currently pitched to 15/25. will see what it is like when i reset the spacer to give me the correct clearance.
