The exact same thing kept me busy yesterday.......almost began stripping the whole ski when I noticed the damn horn sucking against the hull. Bad pic but if you look closely you can also see the marks against the hull as nicjac stated.

Respect to the vets on this site!

Ok, just inspected mine. It looked just like NJaks. Same angle and marks on hull. But not pressed up flush against hull like UKVzs. Couple of questions. Is base of horn supposed to snap or press tight into airbox? Its ridged like it, but mine will not. What is the amount of suction coming through the horn? Im trying to understand how this could have such profound effect on performance. Why not just delete the horn? I guess risk of water intrusion but the thing does not look watertight to me as is.

Clarification: Does not look exactly like NJaks, his hull is slightly cleaner!

You need the horn. I think because of the design/shape it directs the air.
If you remove it it will still get air but not as much.
A little silicone around the edges then push it in will fix it.
p.s. I dont think that is Corey's, as the photo is too close. I think it is a customer's, and he has taken some of the engine out.

    Could be wrong

spot on brett, seized s/c and head had to come off as everything had been left with water in it, all water passages blocked with crystals and valves rusted. even the little clear tube on the intake still had water in it from january last year. water boxes full of water, intake trumpet hanging as it was wouldnt have helped with the water injestion

blue you said you had a drop in performance as rpms increase the engine wants to breath and the horn sucks to the hull preventing enough air for the motor to run at extended periods of WOT. it has an indentation ring around it where it presses into the intake box to locate it, put superglue/silicon or any type of rubber plastic glue in the groove press it in to seal. they arent glued from the factory.

You can always just cut a hole in the side of the hull for more air flow
