    Where to buy GP1200 parts???

I have been looking around at different places, just to notice that you really can't find aftermarket 'performance' parts for 97-99 GP1200's. What I'm trying to say is you can find anything for GPR's, but GP's just seem to be left out, at least to me. I'm new to PWC's, so I need some help in finding vendors that cater to the GP guys. If you guys don't care, can you post companies and places that sell goodies for these skis? I have an old RIVA catalog from a few years back, and then they offered everything for the GP's. Now there catalog barely offers anything.

    Hey Brian,

I have found lots of aftermarket parts for my ski on eBay. You can also find stuff in the yamaha classifieds on this site, the pwctoday.com classifieds and the Riva Performance forums to name a few. Most of the aftermarket parts will be used since our skis are getting older.

What parts are you looking for?

Well basically my list of things to buy between now and say May are:

    -R&D ride plate
    -R&D intake grate
    -reed stuffers
    -flame arrestors
    -HydroTurf

I'm still kinda undecided on the F/A's, reeds, and reed stuffers. I'm gonna wait and get some more input from others that have used this setup on stock engines to see if they are worth the money.

Keep your eye on ebay for the other stuff Pro-Tec makes a good grate also I do not know if you can still get from them.

I like the Riva stuffers better they are made by boyesson and are aluminum.
I like the R&D power plenum Flame arrestor better
I also prefer the Protec grate with the outer wings cut off for speed
these are my preferences other opinions will vary

You can also try posting a WTB ad in the classifieds, you will be surprised at how many people will reply.

    Good luck!

I've heard some of you guys talk about different length ride plates for these GP's. Can some of you post pics of yours on here for comparison? Which brands are longer than stock? Wouldn't a longer surface be a smoother ride or would you lose top speed?

Which ride plate is best for mild to heavy chop? That's mostly what I ride in. What makes the Riva limited plate so good? I thought I read somewhere about the stock 98 GP plate being longer than the 99. Is there any truth to that? Would it really screw your handling up to custom make a ride plate by extending the plate back about 2.5"? Or can you make it too long?

Its common to extend the ride plate.
I have heard you can even extend the R&D plate.
Sweet spot should be somwhere between 2'-3" depending on plates angle.

I have heard also the shredmaster is the plate for chop.
I have not run a shred personally.
