    concord props & clearance

I ended up going to lake perris today to try my repitch.
I must have a bad prop 'cause the 14.5/19R spins to 8260 out of the hole & is ****ty all through the powerband & it got me to 8120rpm top end but no balls.

This is the same performance it gave when it was a 14/18.5.
My wear ring is grooved a bit. Could running 3 different props groove it up bad enough to make it a sloppy fit?

My stocker kills it all around! Are the concords a smaller OD than stock & has a clearance issue? It was nowhere near the pull of my stock prop.

I could only get 68.6 out of it today on 10" chop..Not good.

Oh yeah, I put the riva grate on & now it feels like it's hitting the brakes on chop. Kinda like a stock GPR does. It's comming off! The stock grate was better in bigger chop in havasu.

Needless to say I was frustrated & dissapointed. I'm going back to stock grate & knock 100 rpm off the stock prop & go from there. Maybe the wear ring needs replacing but you wouldn't know it using the stock prop though.

Leave the grate on, put in a new wear ring, and give it a go. see what happens. do you have a wedge on it?

I have the 2.0 wedge with steering & vts extensions.
The reason for the leading edge tweek was because it was spinning 8140 out of the hole & 8140 on top. The top speed was .5 slower than stock & less nutts getting there too. I ordered a wear ring & will let the riva grate slide this time.. How are those SS rings holding out? Are they worth the 140 bux?

    Thanx for the replies.

Is it neccessary to add a set screw to keep the ring from spinning like on the 951 pumps?

No, not on the RXP. Freezer trick is all you need.

Thanx. The reason I ask is I did the freezer deal & it came right out & I just flipped it & put it back in. I did this with the prop still on. It was a snug fit & when I tried to spin the prop the ring spun too so I just pulled it back out.. Maybe it was still contracted too much. I'll try it this morning now that it's room temp.

    Thanx again.
