    exhaust valve failures

Checked mine today on 06 rxp production date 04-01-06. Engine production date 03-06. My exhaust valve #s start with 75 . Great site with useful info that no one else has. Had the ski since new with 0 problems. Replaced supercharger washers at 38 hours and they came out looking like new.
    Regards,
    Dennis B.

Anybody have a good link for a how-to on the exhaust valve replacement steps?

Also are there any special tools required?

I've done all the other mods on my ski, but I want to make sure of what I'm getting into before I start.

From my gathering in this thread, any '07 model year sea doos should have the new valves since it sounds like early '06 was the change over time.

    Is this correct? Thanks!

Yes, if you have a '07 model, you are good.

06 and up change TOPS valve position which is located on close to the J pipe older motor 04-05 has them close to fuel tank, any 04-05 motors needs head valve replacement to a latest generation valve (08 and up)
06-07 valve are safe to use because it was change to a better design than the 04-05. I had an 06 and never had an issue with it and was running stage III with it but I recommend to change them to 08 and up.

My 2004 RXP just did this. It's devastating and horribly expensive. I urge everyone to shut down their ski and go change the valves. My 04 GTX SC is on the trailer until it gets new valves.

I just pulled my 04 sc with the ceramic washer off to replace it with an x charger. After reading this thread I'll be replacing my valves now too. Should I replace intake valves too or is it just a problem with exhaust? These things ain't cheap!
