I've done it to one rxp and two rxpxs and I think it's definitely worth it. I lowered all mine about 20mm and felt the aggressiveness is just right for me.

Drill the holes directly below the stock holes, 20-25mm the lower you go the harder it will turn. As above 20mm will be real good for any rec rider.

+1 On above, I think the stock units are better than any of the aftermarket units you can buy and it costs nothing. The only down side is you can not adjust them. I have taken mine down 25mm. I would agree 20mm is good for rec riding unless you really want it to turn hard, if so I would go 23mm - 25mm

Mine personly are at 23mm, but its aggressive, fine if you are used to it or at least expect it lol. I have riden boats that are at 20mm and for general riding prefered it. Much better then stock settings and far better then any after market setup I have tryed.

Although if your building a big hp race boat there are better solutions, mainly for straight line, high speed tracking, that is about the only area that the stockers dont do so well with.

Im going to see if i can fabricate an extention plate before im forced to drill holes........I know they'll be a tad wider so im going to try something in the 3/8 ths range for material like 6061

That may well be possible but fixings are going to be fun.

When you lower the sponsons the original holes still end up behind the sponson so what ever you use to hold the plate on is going to have to sit flush, I.E countersunk bolts but then your going to have to remove the stock fixings from the hull.

Im not sure this will make any sense lol, it does to me but I have done the job, basicly what im getting at is if you want to use a plate with lower mounting holes for the sponson but attached to the hull at the original points its going to have to have a flat mounting surface for the sponson. Meaning any fixings will have to be counter sunk, im not 100% sure if this can be achieved using the stock hull inserts. They vary from the early boats to the newer ones.
