I run the Aquavein. Not expensive, but works well. I haven't had a recent opportunity to test some of my new setup, but I was already running mid 70's. I ride 98 percent ocean and bay. And I've also noticed it is also the same intake InsaneDiego Joe is using on the Spitfire. He's on a conversion ski, but into the high 80's/90's

its been covered a few times on GH....the consensus is the 800 will give you more top speed but a little sluggish out of the hole...the 1200 more holeshot and accel...I've only used the Riva 1200 top loading intake....but am concidering a SS 800 after I finish porting this Spring...

Get your self a stainless steel 800 grate, you will need it for when you go conversion anyways, best all round. Otherwise 1200 grate for the surf & normal 800 for top speed, prob is normal 800's can break.
