99 slx 1050 cutting out above 50 mph

I have a 99 slx 1050 that idles great and accellerates great up to 50 mph and then it starts cutting out like it's not hitting on all 3 cylinders. I've heard about possible ignition updates that may be available for it but I can't seem to find any on the internet. Does anyone have any ideas?

Download a copy of the manual and run the electrical checks on the stator. That should tell you if your stator/ignition system has failed.

I dont think it would go that fast if it was hitting limp mode. Limp mode is right around 4200 RPM
