New to 1996 HX rebuild need help

I am rebuilding a 1996 HX with piston carnage and was wondering if the cylinders ( silver) are already some aftermarket cylinders ?

Can i easily bypass oil injection ? I rather run premix

I have a westcoast BEP 7200 head with a battered 37 CC dome anyone still ahve some laying arround ?

    Thx for help

You can still use the head. The dig wont hurt anything. Just have it machine squash at a shop. Someone On this site will most likely will have a stock 720 head for under $50. E bay might have something too. The fuel will be prices with hi compression heads. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_...adoo+westcoast

    Thank you

I dont want to use a stock head due to the fact that all other components are aftermarket, such as pipe etc

Didn't play around with the 720, but i had an 800 hx and then a 951 hx. The 800 was cool, but the bed plate i had to run always came loose. The 951 was a failure. Too heavy. I dug deep into the 951 xpl. Looks like that head seals with a gasket. If it is o ring, can it. Too much maintenance. You can measure the squish and cut the stock head to provide the proper compression. Ppg can do this. By the sound of things, and the look of that dome, you will probably need to run around 110 octane.

Allot of cylinders are paint silver from re-manufacture. Like sbt, pmc. etc. But they could be ported or aftermarket too. Post photos of the cylinder. Someone might known here on the site if they are aftermarket. If you bypass the oil injection you will still need to run a oil line to the tank and back to the tank to lube the rotary valve in the center case. There is a block off plate for the oil intake or after market rotary valve cover with out the oil lines for premix.
