    LOW RPM'S

Well I took out my new to me 2007 gtx limited today for her maiden voyage!!

All went well, and had a great time

There is a problem though, I could only get 39 mph and 57xx rpm's out of it.

I was not using the learning key as they are clearly marked. I should have tried the learning key but didn't. Could the keys be mis labeled?

I have not done a compression test yet, nor have I even looked at the plugs. Was to anxious to ride it, so I only checked the oil

What I have done to it prior to riding it was change out the ceramic washers, and installed a bilge pump. One other thing to note is the guy I bought it from said the dealer recently replaced the impellar. The ski itself has 22 hours on the clock.

So.....,what do you guys think? Why such low RPM's?

    Thanks

Possible boost leak. Check closely SC to IC and IC to TB hose clamps. Have some one rev engine on the hose and feel around all hoses for rushing air. I change my plugs every spring, they only cost $2.19 each at O'Reilly's AUto Parts.

You are correct that something is not correct, you should be 8000+ rpm and 65+ mph on a gps.

+1 sounds like your SC is slipping. I read that you were looking for new washers. Did you change them yourself? Did you check and make sure it has the correct slip?

If you are having a boost issue (ie. slipping/missing SC clutches/boost leak) you would still be able to push your ski to 6500rpm. Replace plugs - check your prop and wear ring, report back. Could be a coil or TPS setting prob, also.

All went well, yet you could only turn 5700 rpm?? Doesn't sound like all went well at all
Remove the s/c intake and see if you can turn the impeller by hand.. Check all your hoses and make sure one hasn't popped off also.

I guess "all went well" is a relative term. For me it means the ski didn't take a shit or sink 3 miles offshore.

I hope it is something as simple as the plugs.
    Will check them later today.

What kind of plugs are you using and are they the same for the 2011 RXT X 260?
