Is the 2000 RX carbed model any different than 01-03 carbed?

I have been doing some research since i bought my new to me 2000 millenium edition RX carb model this winter. I havnt had a chance to run it yet but just looking at some average top speed numbers and read that the 2000 is a little slower than the other carb model rx's, is this true? If so what is different on them? I have read right around 60mph is average on gps. What is average on the speedometer on the dash? Just curious how this ski is gonna run along side of my friend that has an 02 gp1200r.

59-60 is about right for a stock RX. Stock 02 GPR's 63-64 I think. RX vs GPR The Rx will beat the GPR out of the hole then the GPR will go by on top.
Good Luck with the RX. Be sure to get rid of the GREY FUEL LINES.......................

The carbs were just rebuilt before i got it and yeah the ski still has the grey tempo fuel lines and looking to do the job myself this winter, Do i need to take the carbs off to do the job? It looks quite tight in the engine compartment around the exhaust manifold. I dont have a shop manual.

If it was mine I would pull them and look at the micro filters in the carbs. Plus clean out the fuel selection switch. It's not that bad of a job. Good luck

I was able to get the rx out a couple weekends ago, it has no hesitation and pulls hard out of the hole, and runs good right up to top speed. the best i could get was 61-62 mph on the dash? I thought these machines read high and closer to 65-70mph on the dash and low 60's on gps? I tried different trim settings as well.

Don't bother guessing, the speedos are all over the place. You need to use a GPS to know your true speed.
