    Purchased two RXTs. Wintezing question.

I live in TN. I just purchased two RXTs an 05 and 07. About 60 and 80 hours on engine.

The guy didn't winterize. And I called the guy wants $500 to winterize both to include new plugs and oil change is it worth it? I meAn it's almost spring kinda. Or should I attempt it myself?

    Thanks

I live in clarksville, Tn but got the quote from a shop near lake Barkley, ky.

I thought it was high. He even quoted me $300 to rebuild supercharger without parts.

sc rebuild is "in price" with MY local dealers...
they charge about ~700$ with parts... did a full rebuild myself for ~400$ aka the price of the parts.. was pretty easy and such...

as for winterizing... sure go for it if you want...
personally id wait for the spring to change out the oil and such...

and 500 for both skis... is ABIT high....
locally to winterize it and shrink wrap it would be....
75 for the wrap... and maybe 150 for the ski...
as you are doing two... id say...
    175-200$ for each ski...
just winterizing would be... 130-160$ per ski...

Winterizing takes me 30 minutes tops per ski. Learn how to do it, its easy. Spend $100 for the tools you need (like a good vacuum oil extractor, drill pump with hose adapters, etc)

After you spent the $175 for the tools, antifreeze, fogging oil, engine oil and filters, you will have saved over $300 for what should be an hours work.

Looks like I'll Learn how to do it myself. When you say shrink wrap are u talking about just the regular plastic for moving? Never heard if that for skis.

its a `special` wrap that goes around the ski and its heat shrinked to seat the ski, mostly used for winter and usually for skis that will be outside... to protect the ski from the sun/UVlight, snow, ice and such...
and the freezing/defreeze effect that might potentially do dammage....

and yes.. learn how to do it yourself... its what most of the people i know do... saves a ton of $$$...
