results of x prop on 07 rxp with x charger and 42lb injectores need help 72mph
hi guys well like i said i have a bone stock 07 rxp which is bone stock besides an x charger and 42lb injectors. i have no free mods , stock air intake. stock exhaust. i was on rev limit with stock 07 prop so i decided to try out a prop from an 08 rxpx boat. i am now at 8050 to 8100 rpm. i know this is the perfect rpms for it (btw i am at 72 mph gps speed) but i have future plans to mod more. i am doing an intake to begin with, waterbox mod with freeflow out the back. i expect to be at rev limit again with this if im correct. i also have future plans for an external intercooler and riva ride plate and intake grate with block offs. what prop should i be looking into that i can grow into it.

It is kinda a toss up.
If and when you go with 4 inch air intake or rear air, your going to be on limiter again like you stated.
Depending on air quality and where you ride a 15/20 could be close but my guess is it will be a bit steep without the external ic.
When you go external intercooler your going to pick up some good rpms and a 15/20 would work.
(I just added a xs ic to a x ecu, x charger and 42 s and gained 200+ rpm.)
This was on a rxt with T-X prop at 8,100 rpm on limiter.
One thing you could do, is when adding the air intake just add some pitch to the x prop.
Then when go with external ic pick up a solas 15/20.

I think you will need a 15/20 solas 4 blade!

It is a way to run x sc, external intercooler and 42s without a rising rate fuel regulator. The x 255 ecu is maped for it.
Also wanted the vts x functions and only way to add x vts was to change the ecu.
RXT models did not come with vts.
I probably will put a bigger charger on it soon so will end up having to install a fuel regulator anyway.

With your planned upcoming upgrades here what you need to do for simplisity. Since you would need to change wiring harnesses and cluster (very expensive and labor intensive) just get a Rive ECU for a 07 boat. Install your planed upgrades and add 50 lb injectors and you will be good to go. Should be close to 80 mph. I have been this route on several RXPs and RXP-Xs and this is the easyist way to go and no need for any fuel regulators. I have run the above mods for several hundred hours and no issues whatsoever. The Riva rear air intake WITHOUT the filter. Filter costs you 80 to 100 RPM.

Yes you can install a RXPX ECU on a 07 RXP, you just need to marry the cluster to the ECU with buds.
