Question Alternative to impeller shaft holder?

Is there an alternative to the impeller shaft holder from PWC Performance? I want to replace my washers and dont really want to $200+ on a tool that I'll use one time.

I'm looking for an alternative to the red tool below...

He wants the gear holding tool.

You can use a big pair of grips with a cloth to protect the gear. I have done this when I didnt have my tools without issue.

Trust me when I say tho, if you are happy maintaining your craft your self then having the right tools is paramount. You will need to be checking your slip after run in time and then keeping an eye on it every 10-20 hours depending on what SCer your running. You wont just use this tool once....

But, You can buy the parts sperate from the online store.

    Thrust washer tool http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=551

    Gear Holder http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1127

    SC support plate http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...roducts_id=314

That adds up to alot less $$$ and then you have the right tools to maintain your craft correctly.

Ahh yea mis-read that you will use the tools more than once so it would be worth getting them.

Ok, cool. I've just got the stock RXT supercharger. Are any other tools needed besides the gear holder and your typical wrenches for replacing the washers?

Yes, you need the thrust washer tool to do the washers, you use the gear holding tool to check the slip after its built and then as part of your maintence.

then uou need the plate to hold the SCer securly whilst your working on it.
