4-Tec Cylinder Head Install & Stretch Bolt Question
As some of you know I took apart my 05 RXT to perform the 08 oiler mod,new flywheel bolts and install 06+ valves. The other night when I was torquing the head down, a couple of the head bolts started to turn real easy on the last 90 deg turn. I did measure all the head bolts before I used them and they were in spec. Not taking any chances I went ahead and ordered 8 new head bolts.
My question is, can I install new head bolts and still use the head gasket? Or can I remove, replace and torque them down one at a time in the correct sequence?

I did it once, but only remove an replace one bolt at the time. And torque it like the manual said. I've you lose all the bolts you have to change the head gasket.

I've heard of people having this problem with brand new bolts. Where they end up re-using an old one in its place.
I'd be inclined to just change the two that didn't feel right, but otherwise, as you said, if you do them one at a time you should be fine.

If the head gasket has not been heat cycled I can't see what it wound hurt to use it.
