PPG used to do a level 1 kit for the DI which included flame arrestors, filter, head work, MPEM reprogamming, and bending the impeller. I don't know if they still offer it, but I did one on my GSXL/DI with pretty good results. Actually I've been very pleased with it. Been running it for over 5 years. You can't just put flame arrestors on a DI as it will not be able to make up the fuel from the extra air flow. You'll sieze it or break a rod if all you do is put flame arrestors on it.

Not sure what the capabilities of the CANDoo are, but I know a lot of R&D went into the kit I mentioned before they could get it reliable. I'd be real concerned about what the results would be if you get it wrong.

I wouldnt think that it would that much more leaner with no other mods. I would think the mpem or whatever would adjust a bit to compensate? i mean if i go to say Colorado or some higher elevation shouldnt it compensate enough to run safely? you get im saying?

Check if the candoo culd adjust the pulse timming on the inyectors. On the RFI models the pulse can be adjusted with the MPEM programer. With the BUDS tool I remember that only the ignition timming on the DI could be adjusted.

    May be this helps.
