    MFD question

I have a 99 SLX 1050. My MFD is not working right. The clock numbers are faded and the mode button does not work. Does anyone know what years and models are interchangable? Does anyone know of someone that repairs them?

Everything you could want to know and more. Part way down the page, click the link for MFD. Will help you with interchange and even how to fix it yourself if you are handy. Faded digits are reparable. The button is prob not. The newer ones seem to get water to travel down the button cable and corrode it. If you decide not to fix it, let me know, may be interested in buying it.

    Hope this helps.

I used the repair method it works great, I put one of those little silica gel bags that comes in beef jerkey, or asprin bottles sealed in the back to absorb the moisture from the air,

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I don't want to repair mine because it is causing electrical issues. While it is plugged in, the ski keeps cutting out like it is only hitting on 1 or 2 cylinders. When I unplugged it, it runs fine. It is for a 99 SLX 1050 with electric trim. The MFD has the trim gauge on it as well as everything else.

Ebay doesn't have the MFD that I need. Mine has a 12 pin connector. Part number is 3280307.
