    cranks

Are the cranks for the 1100 and 1200 the same? I thought the bottom end of these motors were the same, but I see different part #'s on different sites.

I thought that the only difference was the front bearing, but that it can be swapped out.

That is the difference .the front bearing on the 1200 is a 2 piece, the bearing and a thick washer, where the 1100 has a more desirable large bearing that is the the length of the 1200's bearing and washer combined, I have a 1200 crank in mine with my 1100 front bearing.

    Just to clarify,
One could use a 1100 crank in a 1200 as long as the front bearing is swapped? Or just keep the 1100 bearing because it is better?

    1200 crank in a 1200
    1100 crank in a 1100
    1100 crank in a 1200
    1200 crank in a 1100

no matter which way you look at it they are interchangable, but use the big 1100 bearing for durability

    1200 with 1100 bearing =happy

Mike here is a picture of my crank it is a 1200 ,notice the far left shows a silver thickwasher or shim, then you can see the darker color bearing, the 1100 has a bearing that is the whole length of those two.

Bull I will be completing my 1200 cases soon. If I understand this post correctly I would be better off to get an 1100 front crank bearing to replace my 1200 bearings.

Also any body have any experience with case cooling using the voids in the lower case opposite the inlet? I was told this helps also.
