It will use so little I would use high test, I ran my old SL 750 for 5 years straight with 92 octane with no fuel related problems.

I think you want 89 in California. I am sure the gas out there is full of all kinds of different concoctions. I run 87 ethanol free in all of my stock skis.

Minimum of 89 octane if using oxygenated fuels in a stock ski.

If you have a modiifed engine with more compression or advanced timing, you will need more octane.

Wish we had gas with no ethanol around here.

I have to drive 40 miles to get it. I haul 2 skis and 4 gas cans with me when I go. None of my skis saw any ethanol last year.

If you burn 9 gallons its about $1.80 more for the high test (20 cents more a gallon).
almost any other ski will burn more fuel than a SL750. When I purchaced mine the dealer (an old Racer) told me to run high test. I dont know if its a factor or just dumb luck but I didnt rebuild the carbs or check piston wash. I just rode the hell out of it for over 5 years with no issues. maybe just luck? The more expensive Fuel didnot hurt anything but a couple of dollars a trip.

You have me wondering what the manual says about octane requirements. Since I have had good luck I probably wouldnt switch anyway.

    I have a 2000 225 H.O. outboard that I run nothing but 87 octane in, Go figure.
