    Carb question

Where can I get a good rebuild kit for my 38mm carbs. I know SBT sells them but with everything else, ya gotta question their quality. Also, what am I looking at for the cost to have them rejetted? I remember Jared threw out a price that his guy was going to do it for as a deal. Think you could hook me up? LOL.

hey mark why don't you do them yourself?

am i missing something here or can you rejet it for 5.99 a pair from dennis kirk. the jets simply screw into the carb housing. very easy to do yourself.

Only get genuine mikuni kits. Stay away from any aftermarket brand of carb kit. They should run you between $40-45 per carb, and are well worth it.

You can rejet yourself if you know what jets to put in. Most places that sell the carb kits have jets too.

Also, don't forget to replace the needle and seat.

Well if they're really not hard to do then why not, I'll try. What's the worse thing that can happen. I ask because I was watching the Tech Tips on the other site (which I gotta say are pretty informative and funny because Joe St Louis is sporting the hitler moustache)...and watching the carb rebuild video, I got confused, but then again he went kinda fast so we'll see.

I agree. Rich and I were just discussing that the other day and there is validity to it. He's chased down tuning gremlins and found them to be in the non-oem rebuild kits.

BD, I haven't finished converting the file yet but go to the tech section and download the rebuild directions, it's straight forward and easy. Take your time and do ONE carb at a time so you have a reference carburetor if you get yourself in trouble.
I agree with everyone else OE Mikuni ONLY!!!! Even the needle and seat.
