thought so.. Is there enough tension to hold it in place without the stock air ducting?

When I tuck my stock pipe work off I put a length of 4" had plastic pipe in there looks like a pipe bomb. I have also see people leave the front section on and just run the aftermarket pipework alongside.

I removed my stock air intake years ago. I just replaced the straps over the top and in 100 hours I haven't had a single problem.
