    I did search didn't find an answer. Really I should have said where and how were a particular type mounted on a TURBO ski.

    i wouldnt, it will be fine, iv had many different turbo setups in cars, never ran a bov, its really not that important, the whole your turbo will spin backwards thing and it will chew bearings and wear out the thrust bearing blah blah is not an argument. none of my turbos ever suffered any failures or any increased wear to bearings or overall performance.
    ball bearing or standard bearing.
    my turbo builder echoed my thoughts and said ... i wouldnt worry mate its just not going to cause a failure.

    run it dry on oil, run out of water, run too much boost dont run a filter etc run dirty oil threw it restrict oil return these are issues that will cause a failure
