96 xp restoration / modification
I finally did it!!! I bought a 96 xp to fix up and mod out. I have a 95xp i restored a couple of years ago. I tried to mod it with 787 carbs with proks and it didn't pan out. So i put it back to stock. Now i am gonna use the 99spx pumper carbs with proks on the 96xp. What needle and seats pop-off and jetting should i use? Im thinking 2.3s with popoff@ 21. 72 pilots and 140 mains. Someone please chime in and let me know if im on the right track.

Found out the vts is shot!!!! Got another on the way. Speedo fell apart when i shut the hood. Got another one on the way. Gonna start ripping the old gray duel lines replacing with Napa 1/4"/6.3mm fuel line. Glad it runs and the multi-function gauge works. Also have a new fuel tank coming. Looks like a lot of money and sweat equity is going in this ski. I have always wanted a 96'er

Not sure about the pumper carbs but normal 96xp carbs have 142.5 mains. With the Proks I would think that you will want even a little more. Your popoff sounds about right. Around 20 is where I get them to jump good with flame arrestors.

The fuel tank should have been warranty replacement - there was a recall on them.
