    Bailer leak?

Is it normal to have water back up the bailer and come out the fitting that's zip tied under the seat? I pulled the seat off to check the engine compartment after a ride and found dried salt on the top of the through hull exhaust pipe. I put it in reverse and ran the motor up and water came out the bailer vent at the high point. Is it functioning properly?

I heard that was caused by debris in the bilge getting into the bailer. A friend of mine had an 06 RXT with real low hours do that but it wasn't just in reverse. I threw 5 gallons of water in the hull and rode it like i stole it and he hasn't had a problem since. Call it primative, i call it a solution.
