Project "I love pain so I'll replace my valves"
Not really a project but closer to masochism. Worried about the 99% salt water riding for the past 7 years I decided to go ahead and replace the valves on my 05 RXT. After a smooth start, scrapped knuckles a few beers and some cursing I got the head out. Crappy pics but you get the idea. Now I'm scared to get the cam timing wrong when I go to put back together....which knowing my luck won't be for another year or two as everything I touch always goes horribly wrong.

If you dont shed a little blood during a project like this, somethings wrong.

You will do just fine. The cam timing isn't as hard as you think it is.
What valves are you going to use? I highly recommend the Ferrea valves. They're actually cheaper than a set of the OEM valves.

How many hours? Were you fogging? If so it doesn't look like it was working

160 hours on it. It was fogged but not as often as I should have. Having only dealt with 2 smokers it was something I overlooked.
While I have the head out, anything else I should do? is that oil jet upgrade worth it? I forgot to order an exhaust gasket from the 4tec store when I ordered the head gasket and bolts so I'll be placing another order.
Edit, I guess riva valves. I missunderstood Chris.

+1 go with the ferrea valves in the store....The timing isnt bad at all. Get everything locked down then fine tune it from there.
