    Mysterious RXP driveshaft rubber

I can't find this rubber anywhere in the exploded view of the exploded view of the propulsion system. Any idea what it is? It's doesn't appear to be ripped, is it some sort of boot that is supposed to enclose the driveshaft?

It's on the exploded view of the pto.... It's has a bearing inside it... which is why the price is in the 130 range I believe. it doesn't looked ripped just squished pull the front of it and see if it straightens out. It is leaking oil out of it?

I just looks like excess rubber from whatever that one time use clamp is around.

Try straightening it out by pulling on the rubber. It should look like the parts diagram posted by jason. The reason for the overhanging rubber part is to shield the upper part of the engine bay from oil spray if the seal leaks oil.

Cool. This is a good thing. So the part that's squished is purely a shield?

    I love this site.

Yes.. It looks like its just folded/flipped up a bit.. Just touch it and straighten it out, it's not wrapped around your driveshaft
