Second thread same subject. Kids will be kids and hopefully they learned a lesson but I know for a fact they had one hell of a good time they will never forget.
They had a fantastic successful journey that most of us just wish we had the balls to do. Personally I only do it with a 38' center console and 2 motors because I'm not going to beat the shit out of myself on a jetski in the Atlantic. Not everyone wears a helmet, or vest, or even a condom and take those risks knowing the possible outcome. Fuck, I did things on a plastic bigwheel at 10 that I certianly shouldn't have lived through.
We all have to live life the best we can wether it be short or long. Not sure why people have to parent kids they don't even know but I do know that kids we don't know risk their lives everyday to protect our country and freedom and get very little respect for it. Get the fuck over it and make your own safety video for christ sake and plaster that all over youtube, I'm sure it will be a flaming hit!

My thoughts exactly. It's like motorcyclists that ride without a helmet, it's their choice. Simple as that. I personally always ride in gear and a helmet. On a PWC if my state didn't have a PFD law I would not wear one either. Unless I was riding hardcore in a storm advisory and it was very choppy out.
That would be a dream come true for me to ride from Miami to the Bahamas.Last edited by AquaGuy; 03-13-2012 at 07:56 PM.

For a site that promotes safety, and especially to new people like me that have never owned a ski, I find this just simply wrong. We certainly do not need to condone, or promote the usage of a jet ski without any safety gear under any circumstances. That is how people die, and I will block this site from my son, who is another 17 year old with balls as big as the sun who reads these posts. Shame on all of you who condone this type of behavior. I want to live, and I want my kids to live and be safe. Saying it is OK makes me sick.

Could you post a link?
He's not necessarily saying that it is ok but he is saying that they are old enough to make their own decision and do as they please (assuming the only harm done is to themselves). You don't need to block an internet site from your son because someone said it's ok to ride without a PFD if they don't feel like wearing one. If your son is smart enough to use one while he rides, no big deal. If he isn't, you should reconsider letting him on your ski until he's old enough to buy his own and do as he pleases on it. There are much worse things in the world than some people riding a PWC without a PDF.
