Timing Chain Replacement (Which one to use)

    Folks,

Jerry recently sent me a new timing chain for my 215 RXP 2004 model, the part number is 420898044.

Looking on the forum there seems to be lots of comments on timing chains...... like "don,t use this" ..."don,t use that"....."they are crap"....etc etc.

So I will ask a pretty simple question....if the 420898044 chains are unreliable what are people using instead?

    Cheers

    Phil

I didn't trust any of the 043 or 044 so I bought direct off IWIS, cost a bit though before seadoo changed again

Last I heard the 044 was the most up to date chain I've got 10 hours on the machine and so far no complaints

Glad to hear yours is ok....thats great!

This topic has been gone over time and time again.....I trust Jerry to supply the latest parts so the 044 must be a good part.

Just out of interest what sort of hours have other people been running with the 044 chain?

If we had facts.......like hours the chains have been running, I think that would help people.

    Cheers

The 044 is the latest and greatest from Seadoo and replaces the bad chain. You won't have any issues with it.

I bought lots. but then again I needed lots too.
they're in IWIS boxes without Seadoo part number but I've installed plenty without issue

I've also got confirmation I can source the IWIS chains, once I have the price, I'll be letting Duke & Jerry know & put them in contact with the supplier so they can supply to everyone who wants them.
