    Gp1200r Aftermarket steering Question?

    Does anyone know if i can fit an aftermarket handlebar on a stock gp1200r steering system? Thanks

    Yes you can. Any bars that are 7/8ths will fit. I changed mine out with Riva handle bars that are 32 inches wide. I don't have my ski or I would post pics. The clamps are kinda ugly though I had them blasted and then primed them and painted them gloss black to match the bars.

    Edit: You will also have to drill and tap one hole for the trim. I taped the bars with blue painters tape and chalked the nubs for the starter and choke to mark the holes to drill. I stayed with the stock grips to keep the trim in tacked. I also had to put sand paper on a big wooden dowel that I put in a drill to sand out the inside of the trim to get it to fit. I think my Riva bars where slightly bigger then the claimed 7/8ths.
