    Are PWCs backwards from boats when in reverse?

    When trying to figure out reverse on our FXSHO I noticed it seems counterintuitive when reversing. When the handlebars are aimed right, front of craft will yaw right in Foward and Reverse...but in your car or ATV when you steer right in reverse the front will yaw left.

    Do boats respond more like a car or do they exhibit this same tendency? Just curious.

    I'm *pretty* sure that our STX15F reversed in the opposite manner than our FXSHO. I think it might have something to do with the cutouts on the Yamaha reverse bucket that add more of a yaw moment when the bucket is deployed.

    Depends got what kind of boat first off. Then it depends on prop/ engine rotation

    Yep, you are correct! The Yamahas back up differently than other skis;
    this means the steering on our FZ's in reverse is the exact OPPOSITE from our Sea-Doos.

    Thanks guys. That partly explains why I felt a little behind the power curve trying to dock our first time out.
