    98 SLTX carb rebuild help

    I am in the process of ordering carb rebuild kits for my 98 SLTX 1050. I am also ordering new needles and seats for them... What size do they take? 1.6mm...2mm...?

    Also, what all should I service to make sure the ski is ready for the riding season? I just purchased the ski. I am rebuilding all carbs, going to do the oil tank block off kit to run premix, inspect/replace fuel lines/filters... Anything else?

    John Zigler at Watcon.com is an excellent source for carb rebuild kits, jets, etc.

    The oil pumps on these skis are very reliable. If it were me, I'd just install new oil lines and call it done. No mixing and you can just pull up to the pump.

    Good to know, thanks! I might just do that then. It was one of those things I didn't want to risk engine damage from an oil pump failing if they were prone to doing so.

    Old, brittle oil lines can crack and that is often misdiagnosed as a failed pump. Good quality, oil rated tubing that is well maintained is the solution and these pumps will do the job just fine.

    Do you have a good source for small quantities of oil rated tubing? How about small hose clamps? I am concerned about zip ties getting brittle and breaking.
