    2012 RXP-X 260 Plastics

    Hey guys,

I was just removing the stickers off my new 2012 RXP-X 260 and ran into an issue on the hood plastics.
I used a little bit of goof off to get the glue off and the black came write off. This did not happen
on the stickers on the side of the hull. Are the plastics on the new ski's painted or just come black?
Never had an issue with goof off before. I rubbed one time and my rag was black.

Seems those plastics are rather poorly coloured

Was another thread that said a minor fuel spill destroyed one.

Superman, I have the same deal with my hood on my 2010 rxtx. I noticed a cloud kinda like that on the port side near the seadoo sticker. I never used anything harsh on it so I snapped some photos for the dealer. They said they had never seen it. I would also like to know if that is paint or plastic with some kinda coating. Mine still shines but at an angle it goes from deep black to a kinda grey just on one spot 3''x 4''.

I wonder if there is anything I can do at this point besides having it painted. Maybe a plastic polish or something.

I dont know. I think it's pretty sad a small gas spill or a touch of goo-off would do that. Since I made a claim with my dealer, I will follow up Tuesday and let you know. Q- Why would anyone have gas near a jetski???

Q-2: Why would anyone spill gas on a jetski?? In my experience this is almost impossible to do.
