Just bought a 04 GP1300 and my goal is to...

convert the whole thing to carbon fiber/kevlar!

The reason: I need to get my mold making skills perfected. Plus, how hot would a all carbon fiber ski look??

Two weeks ago I picked up this ski in Miami, the guy said its stock, but first thing I noticed was a Riva EFI, stock intake grate, riva trim tabs, I'mguessing he pulled the parts he wanted or could sell.. but I'll get more into this when I'm working on that part of the ski. Started up, ran, made the sale. The next day I stripped all the easy parts off, hood, viser, fairings, almost everything I could pull off.

I've been experimenting on what I've been calling the shield, it's the glove box door, since it's small and I thought looked easy..
I will attach pictures of my progress later this afternoon.

    Preparing the visor

Making the visor mold, my dad found a dead rat and tossed it on top when I was mixing up more epoxy.
    Definitely got me good..

Trimmed and cleaned, needs to be polished etc..

First flawless shield, those are wax blemishes on the right. (third try, plus I gave it a core)

The color I want for my ski

and this was my afternoon, cant wait to see the results!

I don't think you guys are ready for this.. well I was surprised when it popped out..

1st attempt of the air deflector (3 layers cf, one kevlar, with a foam core, might be overkill but at least I know it's strong)

really looks amazing! I would have taken pics of it outside but its too windy and I couldn't keep the part down.

I guess now I'm going to start on the console, or the hood, or the grab handle
I don't know what I'll make next, it's all pretty exciting.
