SeaDoo DESS lanyard resurrection (how to)
I was trying to figure out how i could fix my DESS lanyard to look new again as these are approx $40 each .So as most of us here on GH i wanted do it for cheap . So this is what i conjured up. I ordered a couple of these AQUACORD universals and this;
Here's the typical deteriorated lanyard and the new universal one i bought online for $12 from Gandermountain.com
this where i used channel loc's to open the old crimped clam to use on the new one
Now because i like things functional i added the stainless clamp thingy at the end of the loop,over at end of the new original one. This is so that the SEADOO float does't walk down the coiled cord part.
If you look at the DESS part on the last picture, there's a black metel keyring with the new universal lanyard
and.............TA! DAA! .......done! i like it
Just wanted too share my "fix" so maybe someone else could use the idea..
