seadoo xp 2000 model jet pump problem with solas concord

I have hit a bit of trouble I have just rebuilt my jetpump with new bearings etc and have a new solas prop. when i tighten my prop it doesnt spin easily but the minute i slack it it spins and I havent even got it to 110nm yet is that normal for it to be tight like that. it takes a fair amount of force to spin the prop with a ratchet

No its not normal. After you tighten the impeller the shaft should have some play for and aft and spin with ease. Double check and make sure your bearing races are fully seated and that you have all the spacers in the correct place...

Make sure the thrust washer and bearing are in position prior to tightening

As stated above check the thrust washer and the thrust bearing .

The pump housing has a recess in the body where the bearing sits and you are pinching this between the shaft and pump body.

When you place the bearing and washer into the pump with the shaft dont let it come away from the bearing seat hold it in until the prop is firm. Then torque it up.

This sounds like your bearing is not seated and has a little twist in it...

ALL of the above. Do not run your pump like that. Pull your pump apart, carefully check your flat washer and needle bearing as they COULD be damaged by now. If everything looks good Put, reinstall the pump shaft with the bearing upside down make sure spins freely, keep it tight to the pump(don't let it push back) and seat it on your vise bench, Now you can install the prop, tighten it and you should be fine. Good luck.
