    2011 gti se 155 or wake 155

I'm looking at getting my first 4 stroke ski and at this point I'm looking at hold overs. The gti se and wake models in the 155 hp class are at the top of my list, I don't want to deal with a sc at this point. What can one expect to pay for a left over? I know there is a 500.00 rebate on both models listed and the pro's and con's of each. Thanks Mike

Id go GTI, extra size/weight of the wake is just going to make it slower.

According to the spec's I have, they are exactly the same size and only 3 pounds difference in weight. That's why it's harder to decide.

what do you like to do with your ski?
    lake? ocean?
    tow skiers/tubers?

The WAKEs hull will probably be better in rougher water...

I have a couple 94 xp's right now. I ride mostly in lake michigan and love jumping 10-15 waves. I know the newer ski won't handle that but I do enjoy early morning runs up the shoreline with my wife also. The thought of pulling skiers or tubes could be fun but don't know if I need wake model or if I could get by with the gti. I would like to try a 400 mile run up the shoreline this summer stopping at towns along the way.

Not sure about the new hulls not being capable of jumping 10 - 15's; some folks here are doing so with the new hulls in the ocean.

As far as a 400 mile trip up the coast of the lake; I'd say either one of the 2 will be more than suitable. I've had a pair of 2006 GTIs, and have had a blast on them. They have taken everything I could/would throw at them and never left me stranded (Although one time a fish made it past the grate and plugged the pump, but after 20-30 mins of fiddling, the chum cleared the vanes and all was good).
This year I decided to step up to a GTR (GTI hull w/215h.p. s/c power-plant) and kinda glad I didn't go all the way to a 260 due to fuel costs...)

I think the primary difference between the 2 hulls you are considering is the 18 vs. 23 degree dead-rise(I'm not the sharpest tool here, I could be mistaken on this), which translates into the hulls ability to slice through chop(23) as opposed to bouncing over it(18 ).

I like or Wake, but primarily because we like to tow the kids on their toys. Wish I had a little more power when just riding solo!

I have a Wake, if you are doing any towing, then I would go for the Wake. It has plenty of power, no SC to worry about and the spotter handle is VERY handy when towing.

I've had a couple dealers email me prices on the GTI SE 155. They must be pretty proud of their ski's. The lowest has been 10,826 OTD. I would think with the 500.00 rebate on the 2011-2012 's they should be under 10,000 OTD.
