My New MSX-140, can I call it a matrix?

Ok Ghers, we just got back from our whirlwind tour down south to pick up the MSX today. Thanks locito007 the time passed nicely and we had a good day out. A lot of anticipation with this purchase, just to set it up I bought it on ebay it had a "buy now" price of 1,000 bills and only went up that morning. Based on the single picture I hit the buy now as soon as I could esp being the cheapest MSX I had ever seen at any price within driving distance - it had to be done as I would have bought it in any condition.

I expected a rebuild, the ad said the engine is in bits but that's cool a rebuild is the cheapest way to buy as we all know. Looking at the pics, I will be doing the bottom and top, could need at least a new head dome and possibly a set of injectors, a bit of rust around them due to salt riding. Definately will ned a new starter motor just from the look of it, and I hope the cases are in one piece! The plan is for a completely stock application, it is an 04 model but looks like I have the 03 rideplate (I was hoping otherwise). The bit that pleased me the most is the condition of the hull - absolutely fantastic just a little dirty here and there. The trailer is outstanding and probably worth at least what I paid on its own, new multi rollers, springs all registered and ready to go. The cover is pretty awesome too, it is custom made for this ski really strong with trailer clips fantastic.

Here's the pics, dressed and undressed

Nice boat... And some impressive carnage! Did the cases make it?

I don't know yet - it's hidden at the moment. I'm hopeful. No sign of water ingest from what I could see, when I open her up will have a theory of what caused the piston to explode. I wont have the cases welded if there is any damage to them, been there I prefer getting a good set. I will put up a build thread on this soon.

URUGOL it was my pleasure sharing this experience of salvaging another MSX 140 one at a time. I am so glad you are now in the MSX game expecially since this newbie has been around the block once before to share in the wealth on knowledge that this awesome forum has to offer.

BTW, I love that sneeky mug shot in project salvage another MSX at a GREAT price. Time for us to find a couple of 04 ride plates now! If anyone has any please PM either me or URUGOL.

it looks like a classic case of the fuel pump going bad or the regulator fell off

As luck would have it we picked up a brand new msx fuel pump assembly (which I believe includes the regulator) in original packaging for 30 bucks on ebay last week. It's amazing the deals that come by here when there is no demand.
