Ohio Riders Help Me Out
Hey guys just got a summer internship at the Marathon refinery in Canton OH. Are there lakes down there? Would it be worth bringing the jet ski with me? I see some little ones on google maps but not sure how rideable they are. Thanks

Or also where to live in the city, good restaurants etc would be helpful. Thanks

My wifes from Canton so take this for what it's worth. Stay away from the actual city of Canton, Jackson Township, and North Canton are safer bets. Akron seems to also be a little better that Canton itself, but not much. There aren't any places to ride closer than 45 minutes to an hour away.
We've been to West Branch, which is VERY nice:
We've been to Berlin Lake as well which was also nice, but not as nice as West Branch (actually both are nice I just like the state park feel of West Branch):
We're also going to Salt Fork in May which is supposedly THE best place to go in Ohio:
All are an hour or so away. I'd bring my machines if I were you, these places make it worth it. You'll see several small lakes around Canton, none of which are worth your time. Portage Lakes allows jet skis, during certain hours, in certain parts, when the moon and stars all line up right. Seems like too much of pain to me. Most of these smaller lakes have a 10hp limit and are mostly for fishing.
Sorry, can't help with places to eat, we mostly stick to the chain restaurants. You'll find most of those in the Belden Village area (mall). We do like Grinders, which is a pretty good little soup and sandwich place in Canton.
If you're still there at the begining of August, there's the Football Hall of Fame deal. That's HUGE. There's a ton of stuff going on such as the Ribs Burn off on Friday night at the fairgrounds, then the parades Saturday with all the hall of fame guys, etc...

I moved up here from Tennessee last November, and thus far I have been on East Fork which is down about 8 feet right now for repairs. I was out on Caesars Creek last week and nearly froze my ass off, even so Caesars is a nice big lake and probably one I'll be ridin on.

Bring them man. I'm in Mansfield and have been to Lake Berlin. It's pretty nice. Little islands out there on the lake. I roll up to Lake Erie a lot. Get at me sometime and we'll all get together. Hard to find many people to ride with around here.
