hi been reading a few threads regarding buck and un hook
some refer to the gap between the back of the intake grate and the shoe ,should these be butted close as mine has a gap between them of 2.2mm ..if so should i open the holes up and slide grate back or simply fill the gap with some 3m....ask now as will be filling holes in grate very soon and would like to get all right first time..thanks in advance

Salty, from everything that I have read you just have to find what your ski likes. At certain MPH it like to be back and some MPH it likes to be forward. Its all about finding what works on YOUR ski.

on one of my ski's, i took the shoe and intake off and made them one piece by filling in any gaps where they met with liquid metal

I would sugggest at speeds less than 80 you move the grate to the rear, and yes you might even elongate the mounting holes a bit

My shoe is all the way to the front. I have the buck at around 76 mph. It is very touchy at that point. I was thinking of ripping it out and pushing it back. I should have the hp now to push this thing well into the 80's with the addition of triple pipes to the 1390....And I dont want that feeling at 80+.
What do the experts think, up or back...?
