    Ride plate holes RXP

Just filling in the ride plate holes and noticed a large step between the intake grate and ride plate. Is it best to sand the front of the ride plate to lower it to the grate ?
The ride plate is lower by say 2-3 mm from the grate is this normal ?

    Thanks

I would not try to sand 2 mm off the ride plate. they are not that thick to begin with. If it is that far off you may want to try to shim the intake grate to make it flush. Maybe put a couple S.S. washers under it.

    Nice one Jerry
Would it be ok to shim only the rear of the grate down to be level with the ride plate . then i could fill and sand a bit ? This is the Riva Grate

Just come back from the Garage took the grate off cleaned and re-installed
my first look at the gap I must of been asleep it is about 1mm so a small shim and a quick sand will be ok .
