Looking for a good Compression Tester

So I currently have a cheapie harbor freight compression tester that I know reads ~25psi lower than actual. I'd like to get a better quality kit but from what I've seen most seem to have mixed reviews. Do any of you have a recommendation for a decent quality gauge/kit?

Good call....was thinking the same thing this week when I had to hook my compression gauge up to the shop air to calculate how far mine was off....15 psi.

Its just according to how much money you want to spend. How did you determine that yours reads 25psi lower? What did you measure it against? If you want the best (at least verifed accurate but not the best value), buy a MAC or a Snap-On. I would think anything other than your harbor freight one would be an upgrade. Cheers

What got me thinking about it was checking the compression on the snowmobile I picked up last weekend. This is compared to another gauge as well as compressed air. I don't mind spending a few bucks on a good one but I'm guessing a snapon or mac is more than I'm looking to spend.

That one does look pretty nice. I gotta take a look at mine again, I'm wondering if I can't swap the gauge out for a higher-quality unit and keep using all the same accessories. That might be a decent option, I'll have to look into it.

Looking at the HF site again, there are several complaints of gauges being 30-40psi off from another known good gauge. I'm suspecting this isn't uncommon with these. I'm also guessing anything other than the HF cheapie is probably way better.
