    Complete Engine :(

Hey guys, so a buddy of mine who i help with his ski dropped a valve last summer and the shop he took it to said it was going to cost him $5000 to fix. the ski is a 2004 RXP so as you can guess he wasnt going to spend that much money. I have yet to see the motor personally but I told him that i thought we could find one for much cheaper then that and that i'd help him put it in the ski instead of having a shop do it. So my buddy doesnt moddify it or anything like that so it doesnt need to be a performance motor. What do you think of buying an SBT if its going to stay stock its entire life?

SBT is a bit of a gamble, could be fine or could be a pain

Id pull the motor down and have a look, might get away new pistons and cleaning up the head. Shouldn't cost $5k!

Slow91 can fix the head and he does good work. Most are not real keen on the SBT engines but I have no real experience with them. Just going off of several years of monitoring other people's post. You can do a search and see for yourself. You can rebuild for a whole lot less!

Yeah those were my thoughts exactly. I just wonder how much of the SBT hate is from people who have left the ski un-modded vs those who modded it. I dont really want to go that way but if he trashed the block and all i may have to take SBT into consideration.

That CL add for that 4 tec is worth checking out. You can buy that and sell the good parts off your other engine to offset the cost. Dont have to worry about shipping your core.

    or

I got a cylinder head complete. Needs decked for 300 shipped...

Yeah, I dont think the guy would ship it all the way out to Washington state though :/. I may be interested in the head if the block looks okay. I'll take some pictures when i get a chance to go over to my buddies house so that you can see what happened.
