wondering on purchase?
Well seadoo season is starting soon (woohoo)
and im planning on purchasing a ski.
i know it has been asked many many many times, and i did my research on this site but decided to give it a go and cant help to wonder what you guys think:
i have a choice to buy a 2010 or 2011 (not sure) Rxt-X for a decent price
buy a 2012 machine (rxt-x or rxp-x)
i know i would love the new rxp-x but its a 2 seater and i was wanting something more comfortable than my 2006 rxp
i realize its a different hull, which is great in chop, the seat length/area might be too small...
this being said, i ride on "glass" water but most of the time it can swell up to 1-2foot chop, which, my rxp doesn't like.
so im looking for a fun machine, but that is comfortable as well.
here is the catch, if i opt for the 2010-2011 for the money i save, i will buy some mods ( which i need help on)
im looking for "simple" mods that don't require much work, like changing cylinders or something.
I can work on the ski easily and do something here and there.
Also, im not looking for "much" of a speed increase, say, at least 70MPH , nothing more than 75..
So, what mods did you guys do to achieve these results without breaking the bank ( considering the price difference wont be by "much")
BUT the 2012 is also attracting me with things like : adjustable rear sponsons, adjustable trim tabs, boost guage,
and another thing on the front of the ski to make it better in chop...
What do you guys recommend?
Looking to buy soon, maybe in afew weeks...
Thanks in advance for all the help and replies.

For me......I'd take used. If you are patient you'll fine what your looking for. And save some coin.
Only thing I like about new, its very easy!

thanks for the input,
i will probably go for the 2010-2011 rxtx as i found out the rear trim tabs plus bow stabilizer are for the aS versions only...
as for my second question, what kind of mods do you guys recommend?

If the hull is the same, why not install the adjustable trim tabs on the new TX??? AS and TX are all S3 hulls....

I d also go for the used one. Its a matter of personal taste, as i prefer saving money and when i ll sell it i ll be able to buy a newer model (used) with a small budget in mind. But if u have no money issues then the new model is a no brainer, as this s3 hull seems quite good!
As for mods, other ppl here will surely assist you .
Whatever your choice i wish you the best of fun.
